Surfing Grandma Lives up to her name

I am a Grandma ...again..My son and his GF just had on 12/30/10 a beautiful 7lb 7oz baby boy. Welcome To the world Landon Louis!!!

So yeah that is how my Year Ended and Began!!
My New Year's Resolutions are a few..
Typical get more organized and simplify, lose more weight, maintain a healthy lifestyle, get my Real Estate License, get my finances in order(maybe wishful thinking..but the desire is there)and....
SURF MORE ... and get better at it.. =-)

This year has really been tough! I am looking forward to 2011 and I hope it brings good things to all and dare I say warmer water this year! I think it is time!

Seems like the weather is cooperating, finally sunny (cold) but sunny and maybe just maybe my days off this week, I can sneak in a surf session or 2? I hope.

As I mentioned in my last blog...no surfing = reading about surfing. so I thought I would share what I have been reading.

Caught Inside...(slow read for me, just could not get into it, took me forever to read it. But I would suggest it to a surfer. However I feel a male surfer would appreciate it more than a female..just my take)

Tribes of Palos Verdes....(a bit dark, But I couldn't put it down. I think I read that book in 24 hours, I would recommend it. But there are some kinda disturbing parts)

Currently reading West of Jesus..(I am really enjoying this book, and wish I had more time to get into it, a bit distracted lately, but I am hoping stuff will settle down and I can really get into it.. so far it is an interesting and enjoyable read.)

Well really nothing else to say! But I want to quote my friend and fellow surfer Tracy..
..."Um I think I forgot how to surf"

  1. Great to hear from you fellow surfing mom/grandma blogger! Congrats on the new grand baby! Your blog made me chuckle at the end about forgetting how to surf! I was thinking that today, but then I thought no way! When I get back in the water it is going to be so sweet! I like how you mentioned what books you are reading too! It is always nice to see what others are reading as well. I added a book shelf to my blog called Shelfari, which I think is great to share what you are reading. It was a very easy widget to install. It does sound like you have your hand full. I think as a mom a lot of the times you are always looking for balance and that can become so hard. I think if anything mom's are probably their own worst critics if they are not careful. We become so busy caring and doing for others that we forget to take that time to go and surf for a bit or curl up with a really good book. So I raise a toast to you for taking time to read a good book! Cheers!

  2. Michelle, it's Tracy. This blog is weird about posts. Anyway, I am loving your blog, and I am so excited for you and your new grandbaby!I'm going to try to get wet Thurs/Fri, so let me know if you have some time off. :)

  3. Thanks Guys! I am happy someone is actually reading this.. lol.. Just my take on my own experiences... when and if I get out.. but as you know it has been too cold. My dream a patagonia wool lined wet suit and full booties. maybe a hood.. IDK about the hood..but My ears get so cold when the water is in the 50's.

  4. @ Tracy... yes posting a comment is different than it use to be.. took me 3 tries to post that last comment.
